Global Hunter Wins American Handicap at Hollywood

The older a horse is, the more experienced it is. Older animals have more training, and boast physically maturity in addition to the wisdom that comes with age. Where a 3-4 year old will falter, an older horse, such as seven year old Global Hunter, will prevail. The Argentine bred Global ridden by Brice Blanc took the victory and the 150,000 dollar purse at the American Handicap at Hollywood on Tuesday.

No one suspected that things would have turned out the way they did. At the very last minute, Global Hunter and Brice Blanc turned up the heat and pressed hard in the last stretch. The effort was not without fruit, as Global pulled ahead of the competition, and claimed the win. Seconds later, however, an ankle injury afflicted the horse. Track Betting

Catching up with the pace setting Temple City in the last few yards of the race, Global Hunter ended up winning by a head . Unfortunately, as soon as the race was over, the horse took a misstep and hurt its ankle. The extent of the injury is not known as of yet, but this magnificent animal is in the very capable hands of trainer A.C. Avila’s stable.

What lies ahead now for the victor is a period of rest, both to heal the ankle and to develop new strategies. At an age where most horses are slowing down in their race careers, Global seems to be getting even faster.
