Presious Passion Returns

Any long time horse fan has heard of Presious Passion, the seven-year-old multi million dollar winning prize horse. Well, the horse has miraculously come back out of the longest break in his 46 race career. As such, trainer Mary Hartmann is hoping for a strong return. Things have been exciting across the nation in the older divisions, as there are more races going on now than ever before, and more attention drawn to the more laid back, casual races that occur.

Though everything that the team has been aiming for has been achieved, owner and trainer want to see how far can Presious Passion go? We are all about to find out, as trainer Mary Hartmann has entered the animal in a race this week. It is an optional $65,000 claiming race scheduled for 1 1/16 miles on turf. This will be quite a change from the Grade 1 United Nations Stakes, a race that this horse has won twice, but nevertheless. However, they approach it with all the necessary caution.

A return to competitive racing would be something many would like to see this beauty do. The horse has had such a long and victorious career that it’s a sure thing that he will provide spectators with a great show. Wednesday’s race, which carries a purse of $42,000, will mark the first time Presious Passion has raced in a non-stakes event since June 2007. Perhaps a return to the so-called minors is just what the horse needs, after looking weak in several races earlier this year.

The cards will land where they may on Wednesday, but the truth is that this horse is already a champion. Maybe that fact will give him an added edge on the competition.
